does you tack work?

seandonato73 10-04-2011 08:08 PM

sounds like you have something draining them when the truck isnt running

Maybe try un hooking the batteries after you drive it. So the batteries couldnt power anything if they wanted to. If it stays charged when you hook them up to start it, then you know something is draining them. If they dont hold charge, its the batteries. That will at least save you some money so you can narrow it down.

a bad pcm ur main gauges wouldnt work.. rpm speedo... and your check engine light nor ur wait to start...

It could be the pcm. It wouldn't necessarily cause all of your gauges to not function. I had that same issue with my truck. My tach wouldn't work, nor my volt meter. After dealing with the dealership, who said my Crank sensor was shot then replacing that with no luck I swapped out my pcm for a new one, and everything was good.

Check you voltage requlator itll keep the truck from starting to and it doesnt work it wont let the alternator charge the batteries. Another way to test is to use a battery tester and run the truck and see where the voltage is sitting at it shoud be around 14 V to charge.

does it have an aftermarket stereo in it??? and did you or the guy you bought it from put it in? check your radio out. aftermarket gauge power hook ups pullin off a hot power instead of a key on power
