Nope, you won't see any effect besides the air not entering the fuel system. Very easy and very fast mod that is a must if the heater leaks. You can get a kit with a new o ring and strainer.

Good because me and gpa already super rigged that hoe. We drilled and tapped the brass connection on the fuel heater into the 90 degree hose fitting on the lift pump.

Worked really good.

About 90 percent killed my miss. I'm still thinking I have fueling issues. As soon as I hit boost it quites puffing crappy smoke straight to the good black kind.

Should have just removed the fuel heater, and extension, and threaded the per filter back on. The you could still use factory parts to repair other issues. But if it works it works!

I went straight to the lift pump using factory line and fittings that ran to heater. Should be able to use everything I already have.

I got rid of my heater when I installed a new strainer kit. No problems or issues. That stupid little heater could not have done anything for you anyway.

My 1st Gen hasn't had a heater for 4 years and driven in -20 temps, no prob. Just make sure to use an anti-gel in the fuel if it gets below 17F° where you are.

Well I turned the afc housing all the way up. So when it's under boost it doesn't miss. But if it's around 2200 rpms without a load misses like a hoochie momma!

This is the part number from the Fleetguard strainer Kit I used when I deleted my fuel heater on the '97..... FLEETGUARD p/n 384540000 S

Running an Airdog 150, which bypasses the fuel heater altogether. Never had a problem with my 01, doubt I'll have one with my 97. You got to figure, there's a lot of cold fuel between the fuel heater and the injectors that's not heated anyway, so it's not really doing anything. The block heater does more than the fuel heater does.
