ABS problems
 
hey guys ie been having a problem with my abs on my 97 3500 2wd automatic at a while back my abs light was on (till i unplugged it) and thought i found the reason when i had 2 holes in my vacuum line fixed that and about 3 weeks ago or so i had to stop suddenly and went into a full lock and spun across 5 lanes:scare2: 6 flat spots later i dont know what it could be any help is appreciated :c:
also i replaced my steering box, power steering pump, and hydro boost about 6 months ago
i have a shop service manual if it helps

have you checked the sensor in the rearend to se if its bad or dirty

X2 on the sensor in the rear end.... I dont even thing these trucks have ABS up front in this year :humm:

They dont have ABS in the front. i have the same truck but 4X4 and my light is on also.will have to check that sensor. Any clue where it wuld be?

it is located in the top of the diff you cant miss it

Yup. Right on top of the diff. It will be the only wires going to it :tu:

cleaned it and checked the wires today my normal braking seems better it was wanting to lock up just with that before lets hope ABS is good again thanks again guys:tu:

My 95 has 4 wheel abs.

My lights are on also, next time the diffy gets serviced ill change out the sensor.

i have the same abs problem thought it was a relay changed that stayed off, for 5min, then came back on. could i take the ole air hose and blow out the sensor (sorry for a highjack thread :argh: got same problem, with the parking brake on :argh:)

isn't under the driver side batt i could be wrong
