projector headlights are primarily designed for HIDs. ive found a few places that you can get HIDs for 150 or so online. try ebay for instance. also note. i personally do not have HIDs (yet) but have been 'told' not to purchase a set with high/low beams. something about them not lasting as long. either way. HIDs are bright as all get out an i dont know that high beams would even be neccessary. :pca1::c:

what do you think the brightest standard bulbs are.

I did the sport light mod on my truck with the suvlights.com harness. I wish I would've done this the first time I upgraded my lights.

What is the sport light mod?

The sport light mod involves retrofitting the later (I forget which years, I think 99+) "sport" model lights. These lights have 2 bulbs instead of one. With the suvlights.com harness, it has both lights on for both low beams, and high beams. I'll head out and get some pics.

This is a link to the harness I used.

The nice thing about the harness is that it's a direct plug in, no splicing needed. It also uses relays so that the power for your headlights no longer runs through your headlight switch.

Nice! Thanks for taking the time to snap a pic. Are the sport headlights a direct swap?

daveO 08-05-2011 06:10 PM

No problem! Not exactly a direct swap. You need to remove some sheet metal from behind the headlight so that the 2nd bulb will fit back in there. Other than that, all the mounting bolts line up exactly.

Sounds simple enough to me. Thanks again man :c:

No problem. :c:
