question about egts
i have a 2002 3500 24v ho with 6 speed stock except edge juice with attitude. im getting reading of the egts being anywhere from normal all the way up to over 1300 degrees should the egts be running that hot? i do not have the hot unlock cause i get the same hp and tq without as i do with and all it does is raise defueling point so engine can spin faster dont really see the sense in it. either way my truck truck tops at 100mph with the 3.55 gear and with the egts getting that hot do i run the risk of melting, blowing or cracking parts. i already have several problems with the truck not running right

running that hot for that long is not good. but short bursts its fine. sled pull trucks can peg a 2k gauge and keep going

If your still running the stock charger cross drill the wastegate, that will help lower your egt's |
I agree 1300 on short burst is fine just don't sustain them for any length of time. Is your prob pre turbo or post turbo? Do u still have ur cat if so ditch it. What size tires are u running. If your running big tire's that will raise ur egts specialy with ur 3.55 ratio
