Trans trouble

I am currently having a problem with my auto trans. the truck is a 95 cummins,auto,4x4. The truck has 90000miles. the only mods i have done to this truck is exhuast and slid stock fuel plate 3/4 way formard. The problem is, sometimes when geting up around 50mph it feels like the trans is kicking in and out of overdrive. For example at 70 mph the truck will be driving perfect. then out of nowhere it starts bouncing from 2100 rpm to 2300rpms. this could last for 20 miles or 1 mile. some weeks it never does it, other weeks it does it atleast once everyday. this problem never will stay around. It it very rarely happens longer than 10 minuets or so. the speed range is between 40 and 70 mph. I recently serviced the trans as a starting point. I thought maybe my torque convertor was going bad, but this truck hauls livestock alot and when its not messing around i can pull heavy loads at 70 easy. i dont know if i have a electrical isssue or what. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

Possibly the Throttle position sensor.

I agree. Here is a link to a write-up on how to adjust and clean the TPS. It's about 1/3 of the way down the page.

Or dont deal with the piece of s*** anymore and talk to the guys over at DNR customs. :w2: They can hook you up with their TPS delete. Here's the link for the part:

Thanks for the article. very helpful and understanding.after reading it, it all makes sense. I am fixing to test the tps and will let yal know the out come. I apreciate everyone taking the time to help me out. much appreciated.

The tps delete sounds like something i would like to try. Have any of yal tried it out? is there any downfalls to deleting it?From what i read on the link you listed it sounds like the way to go.

A buddy of mine just did it on his 97. Works great, allows you to dial in the desired speed for OD and stops the slipping in and out. Its definitely worth every bit of the 40 bucks.
