torque converter...

Will getting a new torque converter allow me to and more HP,TQ to my truck. Or do I need to do other things to my tranny?

The converter helps but you will need to make sure the clutches are good and match your setup with a properly setup valve body. When you get to the 500HP a billet input is a good idea to have and a piece of mind as well.

I have a billet cover/triple disc converter and billet input shaft. Along with all 6 pinion planets, kevlar bands, extra clutches, single side OD/DIRECT clutches,a Goerend valve body, and billet acc pistons,etc...The trans is built. It works nice and will handle alot of power to pull a trailer or move a load.I have a mystery switch to lock up the torque converter in lower gears.

I have a 97 with a 46re tranny and I went through RevMax and bought there torque converter and valve body from them and I saved a whole lot of money and it works great and I pull my 5th wheel without any problems. It sometimes seems that I do not have it back there when the wind is not hitting the trailer.
