97 cummins loosing power
my engine is pretty much stock, i have 193,000 miles on it and i am loosing power.
when I pull up to a stop light with the AC on the truck will die. When i am accelerating to get on the freeway it has a hard time getting going, usually around 50mph (1.5 rpm) if there is a hill i am loosing speed and i am not even pulling a trailer. the only time i am seeing black smoke is when i start it in the morning. I can hear the turbo spinning.
any idea's anyone has would be a great help.
thanks!

i adjusted the idle screw today and it starts much better, I also put a new hi-flow air-filter in it today. i haven't had a chance to take test it but i don't think that is going to help. payday is tuesday and i am going to change the fuel filter and pre filter that's in the fuel heater. if that doesn't work I will change the filter in the tank.

changed the prefilter, the fuel filter and oil today but not much change. still feels sluggish and no acceleration no smoke, this truck came out of CA. and has a tube running from the exhaust to the intake manifold if i remove this would it help lower my exhaust temps? and I read something about the wast gate going valve going bad. I have no pressure gauges to check the wast gate I read that it should be at 20p.s.i is there another way to check ant see if it is working?
