I did a search and found this ANCIENT thread. The diagram should help you locate it.

I've heard the "parts store" brand oil pressure sensors aren't very reliable. And since it's such a PITA to replace, the best way to go would be with a genuine Cummins sensor. I'm told the sensors Geno's Garage sells are genuine. There are 2 different types. They have the one for $55 and the other for $37. The difference is the electrical connector type.

Nice work! I was looking by the lift pump and pre filter, thats really close to the random un plugged plug i have too.

found it straight away after looking at the diagram, its jus thiddne behind one of the arms hanging off the IP, so simple once you know where it is! the clip onthe plug had gone bad, so it fallsoff once plugged in got an oil light up on initial turn of ignition and the gauge moves when cranking..she's not running atm..so we'll see if it works or not once i get all the air outa my fuel!

Glad the diagram helped you! Trust me it is a pain to find if you have never seen where its located :c:

For sure! thank alot man! But now, i have looke dat my manual i'm a bit worried it says oil pressure should read just above 0 at idle and 40 running full load now once warm my oil pressure sits just above the line before 40, then on 40 whilst driving, but it never goes above 40 load or no load, is that ok? or should i be as worried as i am right now:nope:

daveO 04-10-2011 10:33 AM

Mine sits around 40 all the time too. I wouldn't worry about it.

I guess that puts this one to bed then, our trucks still work but read a lil high. How many miles on you truck?
