NV4500 issue

Since the truck in my sig got stollen I'm looking at a new truck. The truck is a 5 speed with low miles (approx. 128k) but there is an issue with the trans jumping out of second gear. The truck was taken to a shop that is supposed to be knowlegable about these vehicles and their perlimanary diagnosis is a bent shift fork.

Anybody ever heard of this?

Think that it's possible?

Have any other opinion as to what could cause this to happen?

There is one problem; I am in New Mexico and the truck is in Oregon so I can't mess with it myself. I just can't figure out if I should buy it or not.

Help!

Sam

If the price is right get it. It is possible the fork is. Bent but if you pull the trans to fix it fix 5th gear

That's what I was thinking. They were asking $9000 before the tranny issue came up so I guess I'll have to see how much they will drop the price.

Anyone actually heard of a shift fork bending in this trans?

Is it likely to be worn at only 128k miles?

I was thinking that it could possibly be worn shift linkage?
