auto to standard swap!

ok well i just recently bought my first diesel truck and after a bunch of asking around and some research i decided to go with a dodge. i picked a second gen over the first gen because ive always liked the second gen body style anyway i jumped the gun buying my truck and now im stuck with a truck that i cant fully open up all the power i have because my auto trans is slippin HARD:argh:!!! i want to do a swap to a standard but am not sure of which tranny to swap to the 5-speed or the 6-speed:humm:? anyway i bought my truck in november and have learned a crap load about diesels and actually did most my mods myself, i just recently pput my new injectors in and i have the pumped turned up with a 0 cam plate and a 4000 RPM gov. spring kit and upgraded head studs i need help opening this baby up!! anybody with links would be a great help i dont want to spend alot of money lol and im doing all the work my self (my buddy has a shop set up for tranny work and is where ive done all my truck work) thanks everybody in advance!!!:hellox:

the 5 speed would be the easiest n cheapest. dont skimp on the clutch when ya do it n upgrade the input shaft also. find urself a donor truck so u have all the parts. i bought a running 96 for a grand n did the swap myself. if u sell ur auto tranny n part out the donor truck theres a good chance u could break even on the whole project. me personally, i held onto the the rest of the 96 just in case...

I swapped mine out sold the axels the 47rh and tcase kept the motor and sold the remaining parts and came ahead enough to buy injectors and had money left over. Get a rolled truck from an insurance company if you can
