Interior lights fuse Blowing.
I have a stock 95 dodge cummins turbo diesel,
I'm wondering if any one has had this problem, and has traced the source. I figure its some where in the relay button in the front door jam. It was only blowing every now and again, but now the fuse blows as soon as contact is made. Any help would be great, thank you. |
Nobody can help me with this wiring issue?
Really could use some idea ... any idea. I'd really like to listen to my radio again.. |
when did it start?
|
It Started last Saturday, At first it was only once. But then it did it a second time.
Now as soon as you put a fuse in it pops. I just had a transmisson Rebuild done 3 weeks ago. But I dident think the transmisssion rebuild was the cause. The first time the fuse blew, it happened when i closed the drivers door. Also blew the second time closing drivers door.. So maybe its in that button in the jam of the body. :argh: |
check you're grounds and take a look at that switch
|
you could also check the wire for your door button. It may have rubbed through the wire so when the wire touches the body when opening or closing it causes the fuse to blow.:humm:

Yea I had looked at that, messed with it and figured i'd try my last fuse.
Installed the fuse, and stepped on my side step, fuse blew. So I looked under and the negative wire was shorting out and popping the fuse. Thanks for the reply's all. Hasn't blown since i fixed that wire. |
for the mean time go to the local napa auto parts, get a ano style fuse circuit breaker rated for the same aperage that auto resets itself. until you figure it out at least the lights will work. i had to do it with a power window fuse in one of my fords. its like 6 bucks for the circuit breaker and it goes right into the fuse port like a normal fuse
