Need help with identifying parts on block
Guys trying to figure out what the large black cylinder is on turbo side of block.. i think it is the transmission cooler.. but alittle help is greatly appreciated. In process of breaking down motor so trying to retain what i need to hold onto. I have a 2005 F250 im swapping this into and torqueshift has cooler drivin from tranny.. so im in luck if it is!

bump... someone has to know what this thing is.. come on guys take 2 minutes and let me know

Heat exchanger used to build heat in the trans. Great way to cause problems if you don't just trash it
whats the process for plugging the holes up near pulleys and stuff?
Holes near pulleys? You mean bypassing coolant lines? Cut them to fit, cut the metal lines and do some switching till it fits correctly.
So basically reroute them back into the opening?
Again, If your talking coolant lines, you bypass the cooler it's a very simple fix, run the one from the top, into the one at the bottom.
yeah i am pretty sure its the transmission heat exchanger. it has 2 steel lines that run into it from bottom of black cylinder below turbo ...then what you described a coolant hose comming out of the block to cylinder.. then 1 back to block right below other coolant line. Thanks for input.. i will just bypass
