97 12valve cummins 5 speed

My truck..my beautiful truck was stolen..but it was recovered. They had run over something solid and cracked the bottom portion of the engine....oil flooded into the clutch and truck stopped...now I need to fix it and have to find the lower molded portion of another 5.9 engine..anybody out there got a trashed engine..where the lower portion is okay? Usually it's the top portion that causes problems so I am hoping someone has put two engine's together and I can find the bottom portion of an engine out there...

you need to be more specific. are you talking the engine block, or oil pan.

I bet he needs the pan, if they hit somthing hard enough to break the block I think the truck would be toast. :c:

12valve cummins 5.9 for 97 5 speed

it's broken where the transmission bolts to the motor at the bottom of the engine. the block is fine..just the bottom mold needing to be replaced. Obviously I'm not mechanic.

do you mean the transmission adaptor? it bolts between the bellhousing and the engine block. a big round thing that is aluminum.

repair on 97 dodge

I think that is what it is. I found a real good local mechanic(but he's part-time)..he said to order it from Dodge would be too expensive, looking for used one..but hasn't found it. All I know is truck runs great, but when you put it in gear it slings oil all over and we have to fix this before new clutch is in place otherwise it will ruin new clutch. I really miss my truck...it's been hard not having the 4 wheel drive for winter here in kentucky...that's why I posted...thought somebody might have what he hasn't found.

you just need to know which part you need and put ad on parts wanted. you will get answers. used for a fraction of the cost. just be carful about sending money. i sent money without having parts removed 3 months ago and the guy still cant produce. just be specific about which part and year. You have to do your reserch.

thanks, appreciate. will get part number and exact info. I really look forward to having my truck back...I have a 04 3/4 ton dodge..but it's not my 12valve..
