Default tire clearance

my rims are 16x8 with hankook dynapro a/t 305/70/16. they are 3/4 bald and would rub when turning sharp especially going over a bump while turning sharp. whats the biggest tire can i put on that wont rub?

I had 305 70 16 baja at's on my factory 16x6.5 wheels and I didnt have any rubbing issues, are they rubbing on the wheel wells or control arms?

it sounds like its rubbing on plastic. i think its rubbing on the inside edhe at the rear of the plastic lining of the wheel well

i have 285/75/R16 cooper ST's on my 97 and they rub on the plastic wheel wells...but if u care how ur truck looks i wouldnt go any smaller..mine almost look to small

thats my biggest thing. the 305/70s look pretty good on it. imo. and i dont really want to go with a smaller tire. i just dont know if they will rub too much with the 8" wide rims ive got on it...

i dont know bud but if u find a solution for it please let me know my next tire purchase id like to go bigger but not wantin to buy a lift to do so and really dont wanna spend the money jus so they can rub...

one of these weekends when i get some free time im gonna put my chrome wheels on and see if i cant pinpoint where its rubbing and hopefully be able to do some fabing so they wont. ill let ya know what i figure out. how do you like those cooper st's?

I had 315x75 with minimal rubbing. Maybe trim the plastic a little? I ended up just pulling mine out completely when I lifted it.

just spend the extra $100 and go buy a leveling kit you can get up to a 2-1/2 i do believe.... the website is Hell Bent Steel Specials / Leveling Kits they can tell you how big you can clear with what block.. i know prolly 30 friends that have bought them and are impressed with the kit.
