Well not big enough for twins that's for sure

97CumminsDiesel 02-25-2011 04:34 PM

66mm range possibly? Or would that be too much? I've heard of trucks in the 700 range running that size still

madmikeismad 02-25-2011 05:56 PM

a 66 has potential for 750 or so. I've heard the 68 spools like a 64, and pushes like a 71.

I'm getting mine from Chris at ED. We've been talking a couple weeks now about the best turbo for my application. He'll set you straight.

What do you want to do?

Well I'll have to drive it about 30 miles a day other then that have fun with it

12valvetater 02-27-2011 12:31 PM

Power range? Straight stick, auto? Do you want horsepower or torque?

Good to auto billet tc and input shat I'm after hp

madmikeismad 02-27-2011 06:51 PM

If you are after power only, no towing, then you could go bigger, like a 475 or 78 as a single if you want it somewhat streetable, or hang one of those under a 62 for a set of compounds for a little better street manners.

It all depends on your overall goal. How much power are you looking to make? What exactly do you use the truck for?

Well over all goal is maybe around 800 hp with twins one day I'm thinking of just putting fuel plate back in and stock dv for now and getting a 62/65/14 phat shaft then when I can afford it use that for my top turbo what do u think about that plan ?

And I really never have a reason to tow with it

madmikeismad 02-28-2011 09:08 PM

If you build the trans now, leave the fuel plate out, just tune the AFC. The 62 is a good size, just make sure to pick the right size exhaust housing, especially if you are going to run it in a twin setup later on.

You want 800hp on fuel? I'd get a 64 for the top turbo then.

Yes the trans is good to go put alot of money in it I'm a transmission guy and that's what I was thinking 800 fuel so u think 64/65/14 ? I have really no clue when it comes to twins thanks man any info is good thank you

madmikeismad 02-28-2011 09:31 PM

Depends on how much power you want until you get the twins. 64/65/14 will spool fairly quick, might get you 600hp as a single. I think I'd go with a bigger turbine wheel though. 71 maybe.
