head gasket

how worried so i be about blowing the head gasket with 17* of timing and running 40 psi of boost. or should i tight the head bolts to 125ft lbs

I'd say very. I'm buying studs at the moment just so I don't blow mine out. I'm doing 43 with16* timing

you shouldn't be worried. u should be saving up for head studs and a new headgasket.

I'm turning mine down till they get here should be in a couple days

i just plugged my wastegate the other day and blew mine with stock timing

43 psi on a stock turbo is just wearing out the turbo faster also.

i am not running 40lbs yet. i just wanted to know. i thought cummins rated these heads for 55psi. looks like i will have to re-tight my stock head bolts to 125ftlbs or more.

Not much point testing what it can and cant take. I blew my first one with stock everything except a fuel plate. And once that oil and water mix its not fun cleaning everything out.

jrad. what do you think is the best way to get all the oil and water mix out. my gasket blew and my oil is real clumpy i wanna try to get it all out before i put everything back together
