coolant in exhaust
Ok, its pretty cold -10F or so, started the truck (98 12V) to warm it up, high idleing it at ~1400 rpm. After it was running awhile I noticed a small coolant leak under the engine and what looks like coolant in the exhaust out the tail pipe. SO is this a blown head gasket? cracked head?
Sure would be nice if I could open the hood to take a look but the #%E#^ is froze shut. |
coolant in exhaust
Yup yup. Blown or cracked. More than likely it's cracked but you might luck out

When you get the hood up take the radiator cap off and see if you have pressure coming thru the coolant. Either way it doesn't sound good. Hope it is something simple though. Good Luck.:argh:

I have to say a head gasket issue.

sounds like a headgasket
|
lets hope it is just the gasket - although thats a big enough job.
Got a buddy that going to loan me his coolant system pressure tester and UV light kit. |
i would bet on a bad hg, but i would also take the head somewhere to have it checked out to make sure !!!
