Starting issues driving me crazy

So about 3 months ago I started having problems getting my truck (96 dodge 2500) started after it sat all night. Once started in the morning it would start and run fine throughout the day. If I let it sit overnight same problem. I went ahead and inspected the two metal lines and the rubber hose that come off of the lift pump and found no leak. I stopped driving it and bought a new lift pump and a couple new batteries that it was due for. Now I've got the new stuff put in and it won't start. It keeps trying but sounds like it's not getting enough fuel. Before it would start if I kept at it but now I have almost ran down my new batteries and nothing. I primed the system not that I know how many times you're supposed to pump the dang thing. I also inspected the shut off solenoid and when trying to get it to start the solenoid appears to be opening up all the way. Anything I should be doing different......any advice would be helpful at this point.

Open the bleeder screw on top of the filter housing then pump your primer and see if you're getting air bubbles. Sounds like air gettin in the system. When my fuel line was bad it didn't leak fuel but would suck in air. Also could be the sending unit in the tank. :c:
