Broken springs.....need help pls
Ok so the starter went. Jacked up the truck. 3/4 inch of play on the driver side tire. Bad upper control joint. Replaced it. Got the starter off, bad selonoid contacts, ordered em. Decided now was a good time to replace the lifter pump. Can't stand the ticking. Changed the fuel filter, cleaned the fuel bowl. oh man i'm on fire. Then i notice the return springs on the p-pump, one was broken the other loose. Boy am i glad i saw that. I was thinking of a big red run away truck.. Ok so where can i find these springs... should i just jury rig some from crapa? I would like to order new ones, they got the fancy ends on em. Any one had to do this too? One the flip side i was also thinking of pulling out my fuel plate and tossing it any ideas on this.
Thanks ahead of time for your thoughts. :c: ---AutoMerged DoublePost--- Ok so replaced the lift pump... figured i would pump the primer ball and fire her over... Well pumped the crap out of it, fuel started leaking from the damn thing...:argh: i know i put the gasket in.. um fuel would not come out of where it meets the motor, right... must be one of the two connections right. any one done this before? had the same thing happen? come on i know this should be easy, right.. help:ouch: |
For your broken springs I just took the 2 with the clip on end off and bought regular hook ones and hooked them over where your stock ones clip.
