84 Bosch pump, adjustment issues
Not sure if this is the correct placement, but after all my googling, I determined my pump closely mimics the 12-valve pump.
I have an 84 Volvo F613 cab-over style box-truck with a TD60B engine with 178000 original miles. When I first got it, the fuel filter was clogged to hell and barely ran. Replaced that and actually got some power out of it. Next thing's next, raising the max-fuel setting: I read around and it says to rotate the shaft attached to the AFC diaphragm to the side that has the more aggressive angle to it, but I cant for the life of me get the diaphragm out of the housing =/, no biggie, ill just adjust the star wheel "not sure what it does yet" I cranked the star wheel 13 clicks clockwise and took it for a spin... I didnt really notice much of a difference, maybe a little, but not enough to really register on my pants-dyno. Any ideas? should I keep cranking? Here are the fuel system specs from the manual: Injection Pump: Bosch PES 6 MW 100/320 RS 1004 Z setting: 19' B.T.D.C. feed pressure: 14-21 PSI Governor: Bosch R V 300-1400 MW 6 Injectors, nozzle holders: Bosch KBEL 95 P 9/4 Nozzles: Bosch DLLA 150 P 22 Opening Pressure: 3900 PSI Thanks in advance to anyone that can point me in the right direction. Here are some reference pics of what the pump looks like. http://i55.tinypic.com/15gqs2h.jpg http://i54.tinypic.com/2hnxb2q.jpg ---AutoMerged DoublePost--- quite a few views and no replies. If somebody could point me in the direction of someone that knows a lot about bosch pumps, id be greatful. |
