Tires
Can I run a 285/75/16 on my stock 1997 Dodge rims the rims are 16x6.5 and will they rub are they ok for towing? I'm looking at BFG All Terrains.

they will fit fine on the truck and on the rim.

6.5 is not wide enough for a 285, sure you can put them on there but they wont last :c:

incorrect. Ive had 285 Cooper St's on my stock rims for 3+ years on my daily driver. I use Counteract balancing beads and they are wearing very evenly (moreso than any tire Ive ever had under a 3/4 ton). Even more suprising is that they are technically a mud tire. There is no rubbing either.

I also noticed, smaller the tire, the quicker it wears out

i ran 305/70s on my stock rims before i got my aftermarket rims. they wore pretty decent. we run 305s and 285s on our trucks at work with factory 6.5 wheels with no problems
