kdp problem
ok i guess i got lucky with it. i had an oil leak when i just bought this truck and when i pulled the timing cover it has a hole in it and the kdp is gone.
its been like this for a while so my question is do i need a new one or what do i do? the truck is a 1994 12v |
There's a hole in the case? As in the the part that the cover bolts to? If so, your going to need a whole new case and lots of tear down time including pulling the cam out. Not the project for your average weekend mech since it's very involved...
no just the cover that you unbolt.
my bad it just shot through the cover. i know i need a new cover but do i need a new pin? |
Wow, that's crazy! Never heard of one doin that b4.... Yes put one back in and then obviously tab it.
were can i get one from?
i wouldnt worry about puttin the pin back i would just put a new cover on it and call it good....the pins are just there to help with installing the cover on the block, there are more then enough bolts holding the case to the block
Do you know were I can get the cover ?
Phone cummins, there prices seem to be pretty good. Otherwise check with the sponsors, and ebay.
Cummins prices on everything are ridiculous - check around. I would put another pin in
Brice from BBD performance can help you out with the cover and gasket.
as for the pin, they are there for alignment only (That is all ) there is a bunch of people who stat that the pin holds the gear housing in place for the weight of the injection pump, not true. Mike |
