My rebuild with triple billet torque converter and valve body was about $4,800. Canadian of course, definitely cheaper state side.

$2850 got me a billet single converter, upgraded valve body, and a full suncoast rebuild.

I got a upgraded flexplate from BD if you interested! Because the stock flexplate were known for shattering after a decend amout of power is added.

how much power you wanna make? once u get into triple disks and billet shafts it gets expensive.

chad5305 09-29-2010 05:24 PM

not sure yet maybe around 350hp or so

kingbrad89 09-29-2010 06:25 PM

A rebuild with a shift kit and a good converter is all you need for 350hp. No need for really anything billet at that point. Are you gonna do the rebuild by yourself or have a shop do it? If you pull the trans yourself and take it somewhere to get a rebuild i bet itll be right around $1500. Or just upgrade the motor and wait for it to start slipping. It may not even slip or break at that hp.:tu:

chad5305 10-02-2010 11:49 AM

perfect 1500 dont sound bad might just see what happens

Dr. Evil 10-02-2010 11:54 AM

Do it right and do it once. $1500 is going to get you a "stock" rebuild thats not going to hold anywhere near 350 hp.

Like it or not, a good trasmission is $$ and thats also why I dont have one...

monster12valve 10-03-2010 09:11 AM

my boss has a 99'dually he is around 350hp he put a tranny in for $1400 with a single disk(did all the work himself).. didnt last but a couple years.. finally just spent 4k and it i has been trouble free for 150k miles and he has around 450hp now... o the 4k trans is a goerend. and he pulls at a few fairs a year,

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

do it the first time... it will save money in the end. but if u plan on staying 350hp a good single disk will be plenty

kingbrad89 10-03-2010 05:32 PM

Depends on how you drive it and what you use it for...

chad5305 10-03-2010 11:31 PM

well i jerked out the fuel plate and all that good stuff smokes like a chimney when you hammer down but dont think i will be driving like like to much all my friends wonder why they have no money at the end of the week found a guy that will do the work for free i just have to buy the parts
