94 automatic trans

can anyone out there shed light on my trans problems. i cant keep a trans together in my 94 its not turned up and ive had 5 transmissions in it this last one has lasted the longest anything i should be looking into on why these are going out or are they just junk and i should put a 5 speed manual in it?

what are they doing? slipping?

go with the manual. stock auto's are junk. i just put a 5 speed in mine n i couldn't believe the difference. i can actually use my truck now

There's a ton of info on here about the auto tranny's, I personally have the nv4500 but from what I've read if you have one built from the right shop, with the right parts they can be made reliable, look around the site and you will learn plenty. Good luck :c::hi:

well there not slipping from what i can notice all at once starting with od it starts tearing out clutches my last one took the flex plate with it trans got locked up and shatted the flytwheel. how hard is that to do the nv4500 swap and how much would iut cost me? i hate automatics now. the one im running now i had built supposidly with kevlar clutches and all the fixings so when that on goes the manuals going in.

your tranny shop is doing something WRONG. Prince at PDL transmission did mine with trans go shift kit and it shift greart I've got 50000 mile on it no problems.

check all your codes, i put around 5 trannys in my truck in a 3yr period and found out that there was a problem with the torque convertor not locking or un locking all the way and burning up trannys within 2k miles, i wired up a switch for lock-up and another for od and it runs great now, shifts when I want it to and the current tranny lasted almost 10k until i burned up the forward clutches for 1st and 2nd
