I was driving home and started to hear a very loud poping noise i pulled over shut the truck off and looked at it. One of the intercooler boots was blown off. I started the truck and heard the poping noise if the motor speeds up so does the sound its like a little bom going off and its blowing air out the intake horn. Please help me this is my dd tuck also my work truck it needs to run. Thank you for any help

 

Sounds like an injector came apart or an intake valve is stuck open.

 

i am thinking either a broke rocker bent push rod or a bad lifter either way all that compression is coming threw the intake valve

 

Pull the valve cover and see if its something obvious. If its just a rocker or push rod then it won't be to bad a deal.

 

it was the cap off the push rod on the #6 cylinder exhaust valve.
