Installing Tranny temp sensor advice?
So I need advice on installing my sensor.
I know its going in the hot line running to my cooler. But how do I install a sensor into a line? I'm not really following whats going on there. Anybody got a good write up or some pics? I've been told the easiest way is to go get a line from a 92-96 with a spot for the stock sensor built in. (I drive a 98 so my sensor is apperantly eslewhere) Thanks for the help! |
There are ports in the side of the tranny pull the plug out and put the probe in there
|
you can always go down to your local hardwae store and get a brass tee. get two barbed ends and stick it into the lines and put the plug on the 3rd end. thats what i did when i had my auto trans, cost like 12 bucks i think

Do you know what size it is?
|
theres ports on the side of the tranny, you just take one out. and put the sensor in. 1/8"-27 npt is usually standard
|
put them in get compression fittings and a T and put them in the hard line that leaves your TQ (hottest place the fluid gets). then you will know the exact second when you are burning up those spendy parts. the lines ar 1/2 inch.

|
Haha, I have a glowshift 3in1 to mount on my Steering colum.
I need to hook up the power wires and tranny sensor but other than that I have the manifold and intake drilled with sensors in. |
