when truck is under a load (ac on) it is starving for power and idle is real low and shuts off changed out the alternator and cant find the problem

 

Starving for power what does it idle at normally.

 

right about 500 rpms in drive and when you turn the ac on it kicks down about 100 to 200 rpms

 

turn your idle up there is a screw on the side of the pump its a bitch to get to but it should idle about 700 with the ac on does it sound like it has a huge cam and want to die if so bump the idle up!

 

someone told me that is has to do with the computer and that is why the voltage is surging is this true

 

its a 96 it really isnt ran buy computer bud, what is the voltage doing is it up and down

 

it drops and it shuts the truck down when you let off the gas have to keep the rpms up in order to keep the truck running and sorry im new to these trucks also when i have my horse trailer hooked up the truck shuts down when you let off really quick

 

idle is to low have you changed ur fuel filter and air filter

 

yes have changed both including batteries and alternator

 

its your idle does it stall out without the air on if not turn your idle UP!
