Default 12 valve oil pressure

When i run interstate or pull big load and come to a stop my oil pressure goes to 0 but it shoots back up after i get off idle. What could this be? Thanks. It only does it when its warmed up.

Mine also does it. Gets worse when it's hot outside. I figured it just might be that when it's hot out, the Amsoil I'm running in it is getting too thin for my oil pump to pick up?

I'd put a good mechanical gauge on it, at least for a one-time check just to confirm what's going on.

The probably clean the contacts on the sensor or replace the sensor.

My 98 did the same thing. It was the oil sending unit. Cost about $100 at oriley auto parts.

Get it from Cummins, the parts store senders dont last very long.

Its the oil pressure sender as already stated.
Buy it from Cummins as Doc said or you will do it again.
ITs a PIA to do as its behind the P7100 and not directly accessible and you need to plan on bending like Gumby to get the job done.
