47RE Valve body removal?

I know this is going to sound stupid but yesterday I went to make some "improvements" in the old tranny's valve body and had a real problem getting it out! I've always had Chevy's and Ford's and their transmissions are almost carbon copies of each other; this Dodge is VERY different! I did something stupid and made an assumption that it would be like all the other makes. Anyway, I am looking for some instruction on how to get this thing apart correctly that's all. I just don't understand how it should be done without such a hassle! Any insight would be greatly appreciated as I can't find a transmission book in this city!

Don't tell me that! I have to put it back in tonight! I think I have it figured out though, seems that I have to move the gear selector enough to reach the dreaded E-clip then I should be OK! Wish me luck!

you might have to unbolt the drive shaft from the rear end and get a friend to turn it side to side (only a little bit) so that you can get that arm or shaft back in right, sometimes their a bitch other times there easy, there is a linkage arm thing back by the od unit that the shaft pushes on and thats what you have to get in the right place
