i have a 1995 dodge cummins and last night all of a sudden my gad pedal got real loose and it hauls ass now if i barley push the gas pedal....could it be a broke govenor spring or what?:humm:

sounds like the return spring, i drove mine forever without one just makes it really touchy to drive and easier to stall

i would at least check it out. all you gotta do is look for a spring on your throttle linkage returning it to the idle position

you should check and see if it was a return spring ... IMO I would reinstall it if that was the problem.

Gas pedal? :scare2: :tttt: Would bet its just the return spring on the throttle arm. Best to look and check it out. Maybe stretched out. :c:

x5, the 12v throttle setup is pretty simple. sounds like you've partially lost the spring that brings the linkage back to idle. The throttle cable is pretty much setup the same as a gasser AFAIK, just hooks to the side of the p pump.
However, it's a diesel. that is now the "accelerator" pedal. not the gas pedal. :tttt:
