delete pre-filter and heater?
im thinking about deleteing the prefilter and heater, is it a good idea to keep these on? or will it do just fine with them removed?
What benefit will you see from removing them?
you can flow quite a bit more fuel the stock housing its a bit restrictive. i have deleted mine, but im california where a cold day is 40 degrees out. if your in a warm temperature you should be just fine
Just wondering if it was worth it. As a guy I know has recently learned. Deletes and relocations aren't always BETTER...
The main reason to get rid of them would be leaks.
mine have been off for over a year with no issues and will easly start in 19* weather. My timing was at 22* |
ya my fuel pressure is all whacked out, i bought a new lift pump for it a fuel years back and had to do some custom plumbing between the pump and prefliter and i think its causing alot of restriction so im going to by pass it all and see what happens
what is your fuel press?
I deleted mine because it was all effed up when I bought the motor. No problems so far.

Is there a difference in the filter construction?
We have radial prefilters and full deep flow fine filters. It does make sense to keep the prefilter because the surface of the radial takes much longer to clogg then the fine deep flow. So you would have to change your fine filter more often. But I know that only from the Mogs and Mercedes semis. I don't know if this is transferable to Cummins engines. |
i have the filters i need on the airdog thats why i deleted mine. no need for two WIF filters
