Wow man that blows my mind. A buddy bought a 4door short box auto like a year ago (03 24v) and payed like 34k for it

I'm gonna start checking out texas!!

OMG 34k for an 03 is unheard of here. Maybe for an 07 or 08, but you could get a 09 here for that much.

Wow dude. My mind is blown. 34k for an '09? Those are still mid 40's the CHEAPEST around here.

Which part of texas should I start looking thru (hehe)?

Wow no kidding. I was looking at an auto '06 or something like that, barebones, single cab. Asking price was like $42k.

dude....even us Canucks know to look in Texas for trucks. I picked my '03 up for $14,700. If I'd a bought it up here it would have been $20,000. Look anywhere in texas, or anywhere in the south for that matter. If you want dirt cheap Louisianna and farther SE is even cheaper than TX because the economy isn't as good, but they also get some rust the farther you go.
No matter where you look, you shouldn't be spending more than $30k on an '06-'07. There's a ton of good deals out there. The net is your friend. Also, Manheim auctions is stellar. When I was looking I missed an '05 LT duramax with 75,000miles on it that went for $15,000. I was so choked. This was right before the recession hit.
