If it will idle with no problem without the turbo. I would go for it! It probably hasn't scored a cylinder or anything too major or it wouldn't idle right without lots of smoke etc.. Stick a turbo on and Take it to the limit!
yeah, what he said, not, go buy a CR, there's going to be problems with all of them regardless of what year, make, model, you go with, hell with the problems you're having with your 12v you're scaring me into buying a Ford 6.0L just so i can guarantee myself some of these problems

6.0's are great. Egr and headstuds and you'll be hauling ass and living forever I concur tho, I may get another cheapie 12v to mess with

only problem with the 6.0 in my opinion is they didn't make all the parts quick disconnect style parts, had they done that then they'd be simple to work on, as they sit right now though, not so simple
