I shimmed the ovf and it is still low.

I drove around and it seems to low from what I have read.

I am still thinking on getting a adj reg because this ofv just sucks. I tried to adjust it and it went up from eight to where it is at now at idle.

If I get a adj reg can I run it from 30psi and up or does it have to be at 22 psi?

Ppumps can handle 40psi all day

Do you have a needle valve or pressure snubber on there? That guage is not happy.

Do you know why they have the ofv set at 22 psi if it can handle 40 psi like you are saying?

Just trying to figure this out.

I have a needle valve in there.

Not sure where to get the pressure snubber. I am searching this now...

you can get them from summit part #ATM3279
there made by autometer.

im also curious how to get 35 psi at the pump instead of 22? can you get a new ofv

12vcummins96 04-14-2010 08:56 AM

it should not be under 25 psi under load

I did adjust my pressure to 30 at idle. I did not see any difference in hp or the lp

dan33klein 04-14-2010 08:16 PM

how did you end up adjusting the pressure

I have a special tool to close a hose off. It has a slider on it that keeps pressure on the hose to close it off. I just adjusted the clamp till I had 30 psi at idle. I drove it around to see if there is any change...I saw alittle about 5-10 mph but that is it.

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

It sits at 30 and goes to 38-40

The top number never really changes just sit at 30psi at idle.

Banjo bolt is unknown at this time. I think it is 14 by 1.5 but not sure...

If you have a needle valve you dont need a snubber. slowly close your needle valve until you get a smooth reading and then tighten the packing nut (if you have one). The needle valve should be barely cracked.

so the difference in fuel pressure didnt really matter?
im getting a guage soon, dont know whether to get a 0-30 or a 0-100

I would go with 0-100 or 0-50

I just want one so I never run out of numbers on my gauge....
