Throttle linkage

My 97 12 valver's throttle linkage came undone yesterday at the end thread. It looks like th lock nut came undone and the linkage came out of the connector. I was able to get it back in place but probably not where it was. Here is the problem. Now when I give it gas it seems to want to shift up and then back down. Not sure if this related to the linkage or I am now having tranny issues. Coincidence it started right after I got he linkage back in. The truck has 170k on it and never had a rebuild on the automatic tranny. Question: Does the throttle linkage have a effect on the shift of the tranny. It still idles fine in park. Thanks for any input

that lever is for the shift pressure take it to a local tranny shop and get them to adjust it

Thanks hotcummins

I actually did some research on it and you are right. I bought a new linkage from the dealer and will have a tranny shop do the install and adjust. Thanks for the info

just an FYI the throttle linkage is a recall item if you have not had it done yet... mine did the same and the dealer replaced it .. no charge..

Does that include the threaded rod part breaking?
