Whats Too Much Boost

whats too much boost to run on stock head stud for a 98 12 valve cummins

When the head lifts you know that's too much. This number isn't set in stone. There are factors that need to be considered other than boost.

Upping the timing over 16-16.5* and boost is variable to which turbo.

85_305 03-30-2010 08:22 PM

Do you WANT it to lift? hehe. No but 39psi on the stock turbo wont lift the head it will just smoke the turbo after a period of time

39 wont smoke the charger. 52 for 8 months will ask me how I know.

my stock head held 55psi @ 3,000rpm with 15.5* of timing for more than 8 months ... but that wasnt a stock turbo ( silver bullet)
