is there any diff from a motor with a standerd to an auto trans?
 
I m looking for a 12 valve to do a repower in a old chevy is there any diff in the motor that had a standered to and auto trans or a 2 wheel drive to a 4x4.

pumps will be at different power levels with the manual trans having a bigger pump. also an auto truck will have an engine speed sensor and a throttle position sensor, i dont believe manual trans trucks have those.

Ya 5spd trucks will have a higher flowing pump

They all range from 160hp-215hp. 160hp being an early Automatic, and 215hp being a late Manual, on both ends of the spectrum. When you're looking at possible donor motors, check out the CPL tag on the side of the time cover, near the oil filler tube. It has all the info you need.
