4sp. auto tranny problem only have 2nd & 3rd. Gears
 

I replaced my batteries Saturday and after that I only have 2nd & 3rd gears. No 1st or OD. Is there something electrical wrong?

It probaly threw a code or something. And yes its probaly something really simple my dads truck did it about a month ago.

What did your dad have to do to fix it?

I pulled the pan and changed the fluid & filter, disconnected the batteries while doing so, and now it works fine.

put in a shift kit

I'm scared of messing with that box full of magic. I don't know or understand them. It's better I don't mess with it.
