i like the fel pro better

Pyro690 03-18-2010 07:37 PM

Wow. I paid 5.50 for fel-pros.

kayden101 03-18-2010 07:38 PM

i just got mine from pepboys... they fit good and seemed good quality... they were felpros and was 2.59 per

wes-cummins 03-18-2010 08:39 PM

the cummins ones are a bit thicker and are not reusable,
i bought the felpro ones and they only lasted a month... two of them got brittle and cracked, mabey i just got a couple bad ones

FastCR 03-18-2010 09:47 PM

I work at napa or I probably would have gone to o'reillys lol

Overall, I've been pretty pleased with felpro gaskets in general, although the fit sometimes leaves something to be desired. I've had the valve cover gaskets for probably 500 miles, and just took them off for the 2nd time and they are lookin like new and still very flexible.

I just did mine yesterday with Fel-Pro ones. Looked just like the stock ones. Dunno on the cost, they came with the truck.

on 2nd thought, were they grey or blue? I just realized I put a felpro on my #6 awhile back and it was grey, and its all jacked up now but the blue ones are holding up.

wes-cummins 03-20-2010 12:33 AM

the felpro ones i got were black

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

we use alot of felpro gaskets on sbc's and they hold up, but now for my cummins i get everything from cummins

Grey ones from cummins are what I have , no leaks on either truck in three years now.

I tried to buy some at napa once... parts guy only had one in stock, but he swore up and down that all that engine required was one gasket, the computer told him so... I made him go get the gasket off the shelf , and follow me outside, I opened the hood , and told him to show me how one gasket was going to work for all six valve covers
