DIFFERENCES BETWEEN 96 & 97
 

are there any? sold my 97 and found a 4x4 96 that i'm looking to pickup and i'm just curious. thanks

Found this webpage.... if it's correct, doesn't look like much has changed between those years. Just something called OBD-II; whatever that is....

OBD II is the upgraded port that you plug into to get the check engine readings.

egr system was put on from factory some time in 97 i think as well.

the 96 should have vacuum brake booster and the 97 has hydraboost brake booster

Mirrors are a little bit different too if I remember right.

they changed to the different mirrors in 98

I think there is a difference between mine and a buddies 96.

my 96 has painted 98 mirrors on it
