setting valves on 12 valve
 

What should i set my valves at. I need to change valve cover gaskets and i thaught i would check my vavles.

10 thousanths intake

20 thousanths exhuast

Will it hurt anything for the valves to be a little bit tight because when i put in the head bolts it pulled the head down like 2 thousands more than it was.

headbolts have nothing to do with valve adjustment..

I'm not sure why you think that, but you are 100% wrong.

I'd check them again, but 8/18 is OK as long as they are running out, which they usually do.

You should be ok but I would go ahead and set them right.

if the head went down .002, all you would have to do is re adjust your valve lash and you should be fine.
