GRID HEATER DELETE

DOES DELETING THE GRID HEATER HELP AIRFLOW MUCH?

HAYMAFIA 03-14-2010 10:58 AM

no. people usually delete them because the heater stays on and drains the battery

12valvecory 03-14-2010 11:06 AM

I heard it adds a grand total of a half a pound of boost but guy did tell me ur heater doesnt come on until like -15F so we dont really need them in texas

tpcdrafting 03-14-2010 11:47 AM

Mine comes on at less than 50F

Deleting the grid heaters does nothing for power or economy on our trucks.

As already stated, most delete them for other reasons, mainly issues with the system.

It is proven to add a few hp on the dyno. I'd rather be able to start my pickup without cough medicine though.

i heard that you pick air flow, and now that the temps don't fall below 20* here they arent actually needed

LawnScum 03-14-2010 09:17 PM

i have the banks grid heater delete. didnt notice any power. but did pick up 2 pounds of boost along with a banks 3.5 highram. i dont think 2 pounds of boost is woth 500+ $.
:humm:

people delete them so they can inject things into the intake

12valvetater 03-15-2010 12:41 AM

You can inject things regardless if the heater is there or not.
