what can i do

so a couple weeks ago i was in school and one of those daddy gave me his lifted powerstroke kids was talkin shit about how his truck could pull anything and so of course my buddies insist he hook up to me having already pulled a few 6.slows :bat: and so i hooked up to the kid whose 7.3 has a full banks system on it 6inch lift 36x14.50 tsls and miscellaneous chrome all over and the good ole 12 valver put up a fight but all i could do was hold him. as soon as i would try and pull i would spin and in the end the powerstroke became powerbroke and blew a gasket under the motor.

now the kid talks even more shit and i need to figure out what i can do so next time so its a different ending

is there anything i can do to my truck so i can have a better chance???

What... you want your truck to break the next time?
I say, let him talk.

Shea@L&N Performance 03-10-2010 05:38 PM

Put some tractor weights in the back seat and some in the tool box if ya got any, hes got more weight and traction than you do, at least your trucks not blowin head gaskets and I guarentee you it will last longer. Be carefull on that tranny if its stock, thats a good way to burn some clutches up.

TXHC 03-10-2010 05:53 PM

1. You already won because you own a Cummins.
2. He blew a gasket, you drove home...Cummins 2/Powerstroke 0

If his truck is taller than yours, then the chain/rope/sling will be pulling downward on his axle, giving him more traction. Make sure the chain/rope/sling is level with the ground on both trucks to make it truly "fair". Then you can do a victory lap around the parking lot with his truck still hooked behind.

Yea that is what I was thinking too I think you have enough power but being that his is lifter as TXHC stated its pulling down on his and taking the weight off of yours. Need more traction.

if you have a gooseneck plate pull ur tailgate and hook it to the ball. get as much weight as possible in the bed

wes-cummins 03-10-2010 08:35 PM

i think if you hook so the chain is level will give you a better chance, and yea the more weight you can get in it the better. , let us know how the next pull goes:c:

yea buddy. i agree he had the advantage with the lift... just load the bed up with a bunch of heavy stuff u can find n u got her wooped.:yeah:. or like said before hook it to ur gooseneck ball

thanks guys i think im gonna give the weight and the goose neck hitch a try.

and so you guys are saying if my truck was lifted higher i would have a better chance???

94 12valve 03-11-2010 11:13 AM

block your rear solid before you add weight to the bed and raise your hitch higher than his or the same hight.

and yes if your truck is higher you will have a better chance. because the lower truck is pulling downward on the higher truck giveing the higher truck better traction .also the higher truck will try and lift the rear wheels off the ground of the lower truck.

oglejust 03-11-2010 12:23 PM

be carefull usin the gooseneck cuz if the chain breaks good bye window and possibly ur head

I mean to block your suspension solid so it has no travel ... like this

Attachment 48559

these are all the way up for driving but if someone wants to hook to you crank them all the way down. If you have a jack handy jack the rear as high up as you can and block it solid.

2121farmer 03-11-2010 03:03 PM

if u have a tool box fill it whith sand youre only delema is weight on the ground its a 13 letter shit spreader international not a problem

HAYMAFIA 03-11-2010 08:05 PM

put 4x4 blocks of wood between ur rubber bump stops and axle little easier than above pics.

TwinStackPete379 03-11-2010 08:10 PM

id say let him run his mouth.. next time you might be the one who breaks something, then he will have a reason to talk. i know its hard and frustrating but personally id rather let some d-bag run his gums than have my truck hauled home on a trailer from trying to prove a point. .. Just sayin
