grinding/scraping noise....

ok so this just started happening the other day... when ever the truck starts off from a dead stop theres a really loud grinding/scraping noise that sounds like its coming from the turbo/downpipe area.... i took it to my mechanic and he assured me that the brand new hx35 turbo he installed was not the reason for it... he said if could be the down pipe hitting the frame as it vibrates, but it has about 2 inches of clearence on both sides... the grinding noise only happens in parts of 1st and 2nd gear and isnt consistant... itll happen sometimes and others it wont...... im starting to think maybe the tranny? my tranny temp is good... it never gets over 150 degrees.... only time it did was when i pulled codeisel's f-350 up and down the parking lot...:w2: :tttt: its got enough fuild and its not burnt or discolored... help?

i had a noise kind of like that but it was worse when i turned corners and come to find out it was the guards on the backside of the brake discs flexing and rubbing...i just got a flat screw driver and bent them outward a little bit and problem solved....just a suggestion

My exhaust rattles on the frame and trans crossmember but it makes like a vibrating noise.
