Rear Main Seal

This coming week I am going to have my nv 4500 rebuilt and a new clutch put in at the same time.
My question is if the flywheel looks ok and the rear main seal isn't leaking should I just leave it alone or should it be replaced also?:bombin:

replace the rear main seal no questions asked........also I would replce the pilot bearing and throw out bearing for the clutch too.....they are cheap and you are in there man

I will absolutly replace the to and pilot brgs but--- I wasn't sure what type of a job the rear main seal is.
I have replaced them on gas engines that where not leaking and wouldn't you know it after I got done the #!!@*& rear main seal started leaking.

one other tip would be to go get the seal from Cummins or Mopar is the same thing.......dont go with the after market seals.........thats one place I will never go after market....they are cheaper built

dont bother dealing with mopar cummins is usually cheaper for every other part but I would change it so you dont have to go through all this stuff later on that would suck.

Thanks for the help, and I will check with Cummins on the rear main seal and see what kind of price they have.:U:
