Harmonic Balancer
Well i got a question. Guy has a 98 12v and needs a balancer. the old one is oil soaked and the rubber has expanded out and half of its fallen out. not good. well buddy has 2 or 3 setting around the shop. I thought no biggie. well apparantly there are different sizes. the one on the truck is around 9.125 ( inches )and the ones around the shop are around 8-8.5. I had no idea that there were different sizes!. ( i dont fix alot of them)Why is there different sizes for the same engine???. im at a loss. The guy needs his truck ASAP and im not going to put a different size one on there for the risk of hurting main bearings and crank. anybody got an idea.?
Thanks, Kyle |
IIRC there is a difference in the 12 and 24v balancers, you might have one for the other....
