Putting a P7100 from a auto on a Manual
I need to get a new injection pump and found a good deal on a pump off a auto truck. I own a manual truck. My question is can you put the auto on the manuel and if so what is the difference? And if the hp is different what do you need to get it to the hp of the manual? Thanks..
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- Need help. Any good info.:humm: ---AutoMerged DoublePost--- :dang:Nothing |
It'll work, what year truck is this pump coming off of?
|
check this out and see if it helps https://www.dieselbombers.com/5-9l-1...-12-valve.html and people are always putting manual trannys in to take the place of their autos so everything should be fine as far as your pump working and hopefully somebody else will join in here and help if it is needed :humm:

pump will work fine

your truck has the 175 HP ppump on it now. What year auto pump are you getting? 94-95 would be the 160 and 96-98 would be the 180.
|
I have a 94 5sp. And the auto pump is coming off a 97.
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- Another add on just for my knowledge. My rack was stuck in my old pump and had to tap it in and out to make it move. I could not free it up so tuck the hole dv out of the top of the pump. 2 out of 6 where stuck in the pump. Why did this happen? I guess this is the reason it stopped pumping fuel?:s: ---AutoMerged DoublePost--- When I say stuck I mean the plumger that is under the dv was stuck inside the dv. Had to pry the dv out. |
then the auto pump is the 180 horsepower pump.
What is your fuel press? |
Cranking it over I believe was around 19 it had a new lift pump, relieve valve and hoses. It would not pump because the rack was stuck. That is my believe.
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- The guy who had the truck before me ran untreated veg through it. Just to let you know. |
outch. its very rare to see one of these pumps die, but untreated veggie will do it

i was wondering the same thing im putting a 97 12v in a 94 manual i know the 97 manual has the 215hp pump so is it as simple as turning up the pump or is there more to it since the engines are being swapped
