Newbie ??

I took so me pictures to go along with my questions.

Should this Turbo waste gate hose be blocked off?:humm:

And the fitting on the waste gate is left open is this not where the Turbo waste gate hose goes?

Thanks,

yes that is where the hose that is blocked off goes, your wastegate is modded so it will not open. That hose must remain blocked off or hooked up to the wastegate, other wise your afc will lose its air signal and you will have no power.

I personally like running with a wastegate to keep my drive press in check, but some do not.

In having it blocked off how much does that affect my boost?

mylilpwny 01-29-2010 05:53 PM

depending on how much fuel you pushing ... but wat it does is prevent wastegate from opening meaning the boost just keeps building ... so you having to "drive by your boost gauge" ... im doing it right now ... untill i get my boost elbow .... but you should be fine just dont boost 2 much

and kudos for super clean engine bay ... mine is so dirty ...lol ... gues thats wat you get when building a chase tuck hahah

Just remember than any boost pressures over 40psi on a stock turbo(WH1C-HX35-HY35) is not doing you any good at all.Once you cross the 40psi threshold all your doing is heating the air and running the charger out of its map.
