front end alignment?
 
hey guys, i have a set of pro comp X terrains on my rig. i havent been paying attention to tread wear untill lately. the tires were ok when i bought the truck and i barly put 5 thousand miles on it in. the two years i had it(i just got my license a few monthes ago, been modding this thing since i was 14). but anyways the back tires are good with alot of tread and the front tires are almost bald!!. i know my ball joints are shot, me and a guy up the street are going to do mine when he does his on his 06commonrail. that will help some. but how can the front end be that screwed up to screw that alignment. track bar? the guy said he replaced both tierod ends. and i replaced the one at the pitman arm. and i dont remember him saying he got it aligned? could that be a problem? should i look into a track bar? thanks

Front ends are constant on these trucks, you will see. Yes, check your track bar, make certain everything is tight, then have it aligned. You will get good at replacing front end parts quickly :c:

haah, thanks for the news lol. im gunna check all that out, maby get a profab track bar, new ball joints, new tires, and a good alignment

ANYTIME you change a tie rod ends you need to have the alignment redone.Ball joints being shot will also kill a set of tires quickly and with Pro-Comps being so soft they will dissappear quickly.Also of note all Pro-Comp tires should be rotated every 6k or they will begin to wear strange or show signs of cupping.Local Pro-Comp rep looked at mine a couple weeks ago while I was at the tire shop geting them rebalanced and rotated and I had mentioned to him about the strange wear patterns.he then asked me the milage since the last balance and rotation and when I told him 12k(which is about what I normally do and have had no isses with) he told me that Pro-Comp "should" be rotated every 6k and it was a good idea to rebalance them also.The shop that does mine has a load force balancer and uses Nitrogen and I have always gotten good wear out of my tires at 12k intervals but am going to switch to every 6k and see what happens.I have 35k on my Extreme M/T's and am hoping to get them to at least 50k before I change them.......Andy

u need to align after tie rods and pitman/ider arms.. at least get the toe set.. and hammers ideas not too bad, we have a road force balancer at the shop... good stuff

yeah i definatly need to get all that done. the tires are already shot tho so theirs no saving them. may as well save up for all the work to be done and new tires.
